Trait mindfulness, repression, suppression, and self-reported mood and stress symptoms among women with breast cancer.

摘要: Objective This study sought to identify relationships between trait mindfulness, repressive, and suppressive emotional styles, the relative importance of these traits in their association with self-reported psychological health among women breast cancer. Method Of 277 cancer accrued study, 227 (81.9%) completed a set questionnaires assessing personality traits, stress symptoms, mood. Results High levels mindfulness were associated fewer stress-related symptoms less mood disturbance, while high suppression poorer health. Conclusion Individuals’ dispositional ways manage negative emotions experience aversive moods. Helping patients cultivate mindful insights reduce deliberate inhibition may be useful focus for psycho-oncological interventions.
