摘要: This study was conducted to assess the relations between anxiety sensitivity (AS) and dimensions of alexithymia in a nonclinical sample. We also sought determine whether these persist after controlling for trait levels panic attack history, item redundancy Anxiety Sensitivity Index (ASI) 20-item Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS-20). A sample 238 undergraduate students completed ASI, TAS-20, measures panic. group high AS participants (n=36) found have significantly higher TAS-20 total score than low (n=41), both before conceptually redundant items were removed. ASI scores be positively correlated with on two subscales suspected sharing functional relation (i.e., difficulty identifying emotions; describing emotions), whereas not subscale believed functionally unrelated external-oriented thinking). pattern correlations persisted following removal items, suggesting that is merely an artifact redundancy. remained TAS-20's emotions subscale, marginally accounting influences history. The results revealed individuals who experience frequent greatly fear their symptoms report greatest difficulties emotional states. Implications understanding construct, as well potential clinical implications findings, are discussed.
