摘要: We consider the surface-tension-driven instability of a cylindrical liquid column surrounded by second when entire system is rotating. Our calculations are in limit that flows both thread and outer fluid viscously dominated, include centripetal Coriolis forces; effect force has not previously been studied case liquids viscous. present numerical results linear temporal stability analysis, an analytical result valid large-Taylor-number limit. also use boundary-integral method to evolution finite thread, which then relaxes rotation rate reduced. These discussed connection with recent experimental observations.
