摘要: OBJECTIVE Impaired ankle dorsal and plantar flexor function is a frequent sequela of stroke. A better assessment muscle activation would be highly significant for stroke rehabilitation. The challenge in implementing current electromyography (EMG)-based assessments due to problems with the variability individuality EMG profiles during walking. We have been studying new technique using synergy method quantify characteristics that underlie address this issue. APPROACH processed surface signals from muscles gait parameters collected 20 healthy 22 post-stroke subjects non-negative matrix factorization algorithm was used extract synergies. MAIN RESULTS Our results suggest featured structure (R  =  0.84, 95% CI: 0.83-0.85) underlying both subjects. robust same across different conditions group (R  =  0.97, 0.96-0.98) (R  =  0.95, 0.88-0.97). Compared group, patterns showed regularity higher inter-subject similarity (P  =  0.001). In addition, synergies were indicative locomotor performance. SIGNIFICANCE innovative quantitative study can help us understand will reference clinical intervention studies.
