The Kunshan Model: Learning from Taiwanese Investors

摘要: Many studies have documented the very important role played by local officials in China improving business environment order to promote better economic development. What has not been well studied is how know when and improve their environment. Using Kunshan, one of most rapidly developing economically globalized county-level cities Yangtze Delta since mid 1980s as a case, we argue that transitional learn development experiences from outside through interactions with foreign investors. In this respect, direct investment only vehicle for growth but also channel knowledge diffusion institutional changes.
