摘要: Using bicycles on an ‘as-needed’ basis, usually for a small rental fee and without the externalities obligations linked to bicycle ownership, is what makes public societally affordable medium enhance transition more sustainable urban transport paradigm. However, despite its distinctive character in terms of potential be mechanism transforming some degree mobility shared responsibility regime, bike-sharing still faces same safety concerns associated with ordinary ridership. The most common problem cyclists’ wellbeing that traffic system designed predominately from car-user perspective. Even cities have recently implemented programmes, therefore showed extra care provide fitting conditions them, not yet achieved fully eclipse car-orientation as prime cornerstone their development norms. This means systems worldwide do necessarily take into account main characteristics cyclists reflecting themes: cyclist vulnerable (in crash), flexible behaviour), instable (may fall off bike), inconspicuous (difficult see), has differing abilities (due wide range population), conscious effort (i.e., highly motivated minimize energy expenditure), sometimes seen intruders systems, rather than integral part. work refers results research scheme meant examine road users’ attitudes directly acceptability towards two schemes Drama (Greece, 50.000 residents) Gothenburg (Sweden, 500.000 residents). Although was principal initiative doing this dual study, one key conclusion many people could embrace due perceptions represents general unsafe travel mode only limited cyclists.
