摘要: Abstract Background Small-sized tumors sited closer than 15 mm to the central bile ducts cannot be destroyed by radiofrequency (RF) because resulting heating causes destruction and stenosis of ducts. Study design Thirteen patients underwent intraoperative RF treat 6 a duct. Stenosis prevention was achieved cooling main duct(s) (right, left, or both) with 4°C saline solution quickly infused catheter introduced inside duct through choledochotomy. Median followup after 19.7 months (range 42 months). Results There no mortality RF-related morbidity. Twelve (92.3%) did not present any biliary stenosis. In one patient (7.7%) detected RF. The cirrhotic but require treatment. One 13 had local recurrence. Conclusions prevents efficiently when using destroy 5 This new technique decreases contraindications for use allows more treated curative intent.
