摘要: BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Diabetic retinopathy is the main microvascular complication in diabetes mellitus and needs to be diagnosed early prevent severe sight-threatening retinopathy. The purpose of this study was quantify retinal microvasculature pattern analyze influence blood glucose level duration on microvasculature. METHODS: Two groups were analyzed: patients with (N=26) without diabetes, ie, controls (N=26). A quantitative semiautomated method analyzed diameters arterioles venules measured. total numbers counted. ratio arteriole diameter venule calculated. related clinical biochemical parameters. RESULTS: Patients exhibited larger upper temporal quadrant retina compared lower (124.85±38.03 µm vs 102.92±15.69 µm; P<0.01). for 5 or more years had than (141.62±44.44 112.58±32.11 P<0.05). degree venodilation positively correlated estimated mellitus. INTERPRETATION CONCLUSION: employed demonstrated that dilation quadrant, level. Therefore, assessment changes possible prior onset diabetic
