摘要: Nitrogen oxides (NOx =NO2 +NO) play a role in degradation of lubricating oils internal combustion engines. Interactions NOx with fuel derived species have been shown to lead varnish and deposit formation. Mechanisms interactions additive base oil components not, however, investigated detail. The present work describes investigations the effects NO2 on oxidation processes fate model lubricant system. acts as free radical initiator which accelerates initial rate uninhibited hydrocarbon increases antioxidant consumption inhibited systems. after end inhibition period. In addition, NO react intermediates or products complex series reactions can include direct reaction antioxidants, formation nitro-oxidation products, conversion regeneration from NO. significance results obtained this study respect mechanisms is discussed.
