A Metropolitan Area Network

摘要: Most high-speed multiple-access networks on the market, or those currently under design, operate in a limited geographical environment and are devoted either to data-only voice-only transmission. However, challenges issued by marketplace require full integration of voice, data, video real-time environment. This paper proposes metropolitan area network that covers campus truly integrates single transmission medium. Furthermore, is achieved through media-access schema. also presents marketing issues, requirements, technology constraints. The proposed mediaaccess schema being considered IEEE 802.6 MAN Committee for Standardization.
