摘要: Constipation is a common and distressing pediatric problem. Even if prevalence of this disorder has increased, treatment constipation in children still largely based on clinical experience rather than evidence-based studies. The currently recommended includes education, disimpaction, maintenance therapy, consisting dietary changes, behavioral modification, use laxatives. Among osmotic agents, polyethylene glycol solutions appear to be the first-line drug pediatrics. Although these measures are effective majority children, sizable proportion needs long-term therapy. Chronicity may significantly interfere with child's emotional growth development. Advances understanding gastrointestinal enteric nervous system epithelial function have led development new classes drugs. These include substances that bind serotonin receptors or chloride channel activators. Further studies needed assess benefits risks
