摘要: Coagulase-negative staphylococci (CoNS) are frequently isolated from hospital infections associated with biofilm formation on implanted medical devices. However, the toxigenic potential of CoNS is not yet fully understood. Here we report presence putative virulence-associated genes usually known for Staphylococcus aureus in isolates hospital-associated Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil. The hlgCB, coding staphylococcal gamma-hemolysin toxin; lukSF, Panton-Valentine leukocidin (PVL); and tst, toxic shock syndrome toxin (TSST-1), was assessed by PCR amplification followed sequencing amplicons 43 samples. Preliminary identification conventional biochemical tests confirmed automated system 16S rRNA tuf genes. absence coagulase gene strains a test that negative coa gene. Eighteen carried at least one those hlgCB lukSF were detected together five isolates, occurred alone 12 tst isolate. Carriage indicates ability to incorporate genes, increasing their invade sterile sites cause serious hospital-acquired infections.
