Using 2MASS to detect main sequence companions to subdwarf B stars

摘要: We explore the binary fraction of subdwarf B (sdB) stars by using Two Micron All Sky Survey to search for main sequence companions. have convolved Kurucz models with appropriate filter bandpasses examine how various combinations separate single sdB from sdB+MS binaries. notice that 2MASS magnitude limits greatly increase inferred binaries and a magnitude-limited sample stars.
