摘要: This paper presents detailed in situ experimental results for the performance of a commercial batch grain dryer under real operating conditions while drying barley. The distribution key parameters air temperature, relative humidity, airflow, moisture content, time and energy use are measured. For two trials conducted, overall cycle-averaged process thermal efficiency is 48·4 41·5%, respectively. achieved when average initial contents are, respectively, 15·7 17·2% highest plenum temperatures 41·4 34·0°C. During drying, unlike stack-on temperatures, exhaust after stack fairly stable only mildly affected by variation ambient conditions. After heating period, enthalpy remains practically constant through section. Close to centre, because presence auger, velocity considerably lower than other parts dryer. appears be dominated front advancing stack. reduction content much faster during last few hours process. experiments highlight importance accurate measurement representation product airflow.
