摘要: Abstract The present article evaluates the influence of experimental conditions in determination subcooling sodium sulfate decahydrate (Glauber's salt) nucleated with anhydrous and hydrated tetraborate (borax). Experiments have been carried out by means Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) two other custom procedures designed authors, order to ensure that, small samples tested DSC large using those techniques, undergo same or equivalent thermal processes. Two types evaluated, first one composed 5% decahydrate, second being 32.3% sulfate, 1.4% tetraborate, balance water. such as cooling rate, maximum heating temperature, holding time at temperature has researched. results indicate that mass/temperature/time variables a complex interaction attained. As result, technique underestimates reduction can be attained masses Glauber's salt nucleation borax.
