摘要: Abstract In view of the problems caused by chloroquine-resistance some strains Plasmodium falciparum, authors have investigated effectiveness diaphenylsulfone against two such resistant strains, from Malaya and Viet-Nam. They found that given during acute attacks malaria had a blood schizontocidal activity Malayan strain but was not rapidly effective in terminating non-immune persons, that, when drug prophylactically relatively small doses, it substantially preventing patency mosquito-induced infection with same strain. The protective effect is clinical prophylactic or suppressive drug; does appear to be true causal prophylactic. It also vitiated concurrent administration paraaminobenzoic acid. These studies indicate need for further assessment antimalarial value sulfones sulfonamides, both alone combination other drugs, prevention cure.
