摘要: AbstractCitizen science projects have grown in number, scale and scope recent years. Such engage members of the public working with professional scientists a diverse range practices. Yet there has been little educational exploration such to date. In particular, limited backgrounds adult contributors citizen science, or how they gained knowledge area continue update it. Drawing upon survey data volunteering more broadly this article seeks identify gaps existing research possibilities for researchers. addition, it also explores certain conceptual issues. Contributors are mostly referred as volunteers, but characterised citizens amateurs. The will explore nature significance these different characterisations suggest further research.
