摘要: Botulinum neurotoxins (BoNTs) are potent and the causative agent of botulism, as well valuable pharmaceuticals. BoNTs divided into seven serotypes that comprise over 40 reported subtypes. BoNT/A1 BoNT/B1 currently only subtypes approved for pharmaceutical use in USA. While several other BoNT including BoNT/A2 and/A6 have been proposed promising pharmaceuticals, detailed characterization using vivo assays essential to determine their characteristics compared used and/B1. Several methods studying mice being used, but no objective quantitative assay assessment functional outcomes after injection has described. Here we describe CatWalk XT a new analytical tool analysis paralytic effect local intramuscular A1, A2, A6, B1. Catwalk is sophisticated gait locomotion system quantitatively analyzes rodent's paw print dimensions footfall patterns while traversing glass plate during unforced walk. Significant changes were observed parameters all tested subtypes, however, injected intraperitoneally with same BoNTs. clear difference time peak paralysis was between and/B1, four toxins resulted deficit limb limbs functionally compensating qualitative differences The presented data demonstrate utility through its ability collect large amounts objectively analyze sensitive static dynamic parameters.
