Contextual Influences on Associations between Impulsivity and Risk-Taking and Child Delinquency

摘要: Previous literature has shown that risk factors for delinquency include individual characteristics of impulsivity and risk-taking as well contextual influences such neighborhoods, parenting engagement in physical activity (e.g., exercise, sports). Theory suggests interact with to influence child development, however evidence is limited. The current study examined the interaction between these risks childhood a community sample 89 children ranging from 9 12 years age (M = 10.4, SD 1.1). Questionnaire measures showed both caregiver report self-reported were positively associated delinquency, yet no interactions found. When using computer tasks, neither nor significantly delinquency. However, by was found, at low levels related high activity, unrelated. Thus, programs involve may be useful prevention intervention strategies children.
