摘要: Abstract The aim of the present study was to identify protein that accounts for cholesteryl ester transfer (CETP)-inhibitory activity is specifically associated with human plasma high density lipoproteins (HDL). To this end, HDL apolipoproteins were fractionated by preparative polyacrylamide gradient gel electrophoresis, and 30 distinct fractions molecular masses ranging from 80 down 2 kDa tested their ability inhibit CETP activity. One single apolipoprotein fraction able completely N-terminal sequence 6-kDa inhibitor matched apoC-I, inhibition blocked specific anti-apolipoprotein C-I antibodies, mass spectrometry analysis confirmed identity isolated full-length apoC-I. Pure apoC-I abolish in a concentration-dependent manner efficiency (IC50 = 100 nmol/liter). inhibitory potency total delipidated disappeared after treatment deprivation native immunoaffinity chromatography produced mean 43% rise rates. main localization not low lipoprotein normolipidemic provides further support property inhibiting
