摘要: Abstract This paper reports the study of a planar Cross-Axis Flexural Pivot (CAFP) comprising an additional contact pair. The proposed device may be useful for applications requiring revolute joint that behaves differently when deflecting clockwise/anti-clockwise. presence pair reduces free length one flexures, resulting in considerable increment overall stiffness. pivot behaviour is investigated, different load cases, via Chained-Beam-Constraint Model (CBCM), namely accurate method to applied large deflection problems. A framework Matlab and ANSYS developed testing CAFP performances terms rotational stiffness, parasitic shift maximum stress, with combinations geometrical aspect ratios extensions. Results achieved CBCM pure rotation CAFP’s output link are then verified through Finite Element Analysis. performance maps show good agreement between numerical results. Furthermore, shows improved computational efficiency, which crucial preliminary design steps. At last, direct comparison simulations experiments, by means two custom test rigs, confirms efficacy modeling contacts
