摘要: B lymphocytes are the source of pathogen-specific and neutralizing antibodies (Abs), they also regulate development lymphoid tissue activity T cells other hematopoietic cell types. Hematopoietic humanized mice (hu-mice) represent a relevant experimental tool to explore basic translational mechanisms human B-cell development, activation, function. These animals readily generate in high proportion relative lineages. All stages maturation can be found hu-mice, including naive, activated, IgM memory, class-switched cells, furthermore these produce significant amounts secreted immunoglobulin. However, majority only progress immature/transitional stage suggesting that some factors necessary for present functional mouse environment. Thus, addition providing model understanding responses infections vaccines testing B-cell-specific therapies, hu-mouse affords great opportunity learn which types molecules critical Here, we review kinetics, characteristics, limitations hu-mice summarize what uniquely animal models have taught us about biology.
