摘要: Laboratory experiments often model risk through a choice between large, uncertain (LU) reward against small, certain (SC) as an index of individual’s tolerance. An important factor generally lacking from these procedures are reward-associated cues that may modulate preferences. We tested whether the addition signaling ‘jackpot’ wins to LU choices would preferences and if cue effects were mediated by dopaminergic signaling. Three groups rats chose SC rewards for which probability decreased across blocks. The unsignaled group received non-informative stimulus trial outcome. signaled jackpot signal prior delivery blackout on losses. signaled-light similar wins, but salient loss distinct win signal. Presenting signals discounting value both regardless signal, while showed previous research without cues. Pharmacological challenges with D1/D2 agonists antagonists revealed D1 antagonism increased sensitives relative groups, respectively, D2 sensitivities magnitude reward. results highlight how predictive can promote maladaptive taking in individuals, have reduced effect. Additionally, presence reward-predictive change underlying neurobehavioral mechanisms mediating decision-making under risk.
