摘要: The increasingly accurate prediction of survival and functional recovery in patients with stroke will be value planning both their individual management the health social services needed. To establish independent predictive effects a range personal clinical characteristics, data on 900 admitted to Northwick Park Hospital were analysed by stepwise multiple regression. Older who lose consciousness at outset show signs neurological deficits, abnormal pupils, conjugate deviation eyes are more likely die within year than those without these characteristics. Those survive acute episode discharged alive if they old have sensory loss severe physical disability. female incontinent, onset stroke, sustain extensive motor deficits combination other residual disabilities from previous strokes particularly severely disabled discharge hospital. Routinely collected enable useful forecasts about mortality disability after stroke. accuracy can probably improved further.
