摘要: Relatively dry, solid hydroxylammonium nitrate (HAN), (NH/sub 3/OH)NO/sub 3/, was examined by IR spectroscopy from 170 K to well above its decomposition point. The modes in the 2600-2950-cn/sup -1/ range are assigned -NH/sub 3//sup +/ combination tones, rather than nu(OH) as recently proposed for aqueous HAN solutions. Frequency-to-distance correlations cast doubt on viability of using nu(NH/OH) fundamentals determine accurate interionic distances HAN. Several thermolysis products (HNO/sub N/sub 2/O, and NO/sub 2/) were quantified real time rapid-scan FTIR found oscillate when solutions pyrolyzed at a high rate (130 s/sup -1/) with pressures greater or equal 100 psi Ar. onset oscillation is delayed increasing initial H/sub 2/O content. period constant pressure increases heating rate. Some comments reactions that may lead made based these findings. 28 references, 5 figures, 1 table.
