Structural and solvent effects in the photochemistry of aliphatic ketones

摘要: Abstract Structural and solvent effects have been investigated by determining triplet yields, lifetimes fluorescence decay times with the sensitized T-T absorption time-resolved techniques. Methyl ethyl ketone, methyl isopropyl ketone tert -butyl were studied in iso-octane, alcohols acetonitrile. The quantum yields for state formation found to decrease significantly increasing substitution α position. as well also changed nature (polarity hydrogen-donating ability) of concentration. results explained assuming that singlet excimers contributed primary photophysical processes.
