摘要: Abstract The occurrence of plutonium isotopes derived from the Windscale reprocessing facility discharges and weapons test fallout in intertidal sediments Wyre estuary, northwest England, is reported. appears to be slowly transported estuary association with sedimentary material, its distribution surface buried controlled by variations organic matter content and/or their grain size characteristics. Results chemical leaching experiments suggest that very little ion exchangeable or humic substances, but it other Fe/Mn hydrous oxide fractions sediments. Plutonium shows a similar depositional behaviour mercury which enters directly local industrial discharges.
