摘要: The purpose of this study was to evaluate a porous biphasic hydroxyapatite-calcium phosphate ceramic as modifier and extender an autogeneic marrow graft for filling 2.5-cm segmental bony defect. Twenty adult mongrel dogs were surgically treated create diaphyseal defects in the left ulnae. (1) filled with bone mixed granular hydroxyapatite-tricalcium (granular ceramic); (2) grafted solid block soaked (block (3) received no (no implant); or (4) alone (bone marrow). All animals followed clinically roentgenographically 24 weeks then killed. Repair led three unions fibrous unions; implants marrow, five formed unions, one progressed union. Defects all united. implant nonunions. Histology showed normal only light immune reaction. Complete bridging defect occurred significantly earlier than alone. Histomorphometry, performed on indicated active resorption ceramic. Clinically, addition improved handling characteristics material accelerated healing according roentgenographic evaluation.
