摘要: Precise identification of tumor margins is the utmost importance in neuro-oncology. Confocal microscopy capable rapid imaging fresh tissues at cellular resolution and has been miniaturized into handheld probe-based systems suitable for use operating room. We aimed to perform a literature review provide an update on current status confocal laser endomicroscopy (CLE) technology brain surgery. Aside from benchtop microscopes used ex vivo fashion, there are four CLE that have investigated potential application workflow Preclinical studies animal models clinical human tumors assessed approaches, suggesting holds promise characteristic (diagnostic) histological features normal tissues. However, few assessing diagnostic accuracy sufficient definitive determination economical value Intraoperative real-time, high-resolution tissue significant field emerging shows improving surgery studies. Future necessary demonstrate economic benefit CLE.
