摘要: Toxocariasis is a neglected and geographically widespread parasitic disease. The detection of specific antibodies associated with this disease required to confirm its clinical diagnosis aid in prevention. Although helminth infection during pregnancy can promote foetal immune responses long-term effects, information regarding the risk Toxocara spp. human foetus lacking. Therefore, present study aimed investigate frequency against umbilical cord serum samples determine neonatal factors infection. A cross-sectional was performed on 280 neonates. blood sample obtained from each newborn after parturition, were examined by enzyme-linked immunoassay. Epidemiological data through questionnaire obstetric history (abortion history, premature birthhistory, birth numbers), general aspects (animal contact anddiet) socio-economic factors. anti-Toxocara IgG cords neonates 20% pre-adsorbed Ascaris antigen. Family income dog ownership considered No association found between reproductive disorders seropositivity. rate sera newborns be related binding at maternal-foetal interface, requiring greater care pregnancy. Anti-Toxocara IgM IgE no samples, indicating that vertical transmission these parasites occurred population. Studies are important for determining exposure parasites.
