摘要: As a surgical procedure which could significantly lower the recurrence rate of cancers, total mesorectal excision (TME) has been gold standard for middle and rectal cancer treatment. However, previous studies have shown that did not achieve ideal theoretical local rates cancers. Some researchers pointed out it was very likely all so-called TME treatments completely removed mesorectum, implying some these failed to meet oncological quality standards. Therefore, suitable assessment tool is necessary. The notion "macroscopic (MAME)" put forward by as better confirmed series studies. Besides providing rapid accurate feedbacks surgeons, MAME also effectively assesses prognosis patients with cancer. new used quality, an only limited influence on current guidelines yet be widely applied in most countries. aims this review are provide detailed introduction clinical practice summarize prognostic significance MAME.
