摘要: High level ozone exposure is known to cause acute, neutrophil-independent airway hyperreactivity in the guinea pig. The precise biochemical mechanisms involved remain unclear. Because of its potential pathophysiologic importance, we examined whether a lysosomal hydrolase, N-acetyl-beta-D-glucosaminidase (NAGA) was released from airways vivo and bronchoalveolar cells, specifically macrophages. Muscarinic reactivity determined by measuring specific resistance (sRaw) response increasing doses aerosolized acetylcholine pigs that were either exposed air or (3.0 ppm, 2 h). ozone-exposed animals showed substantial muscarinic 30 min after exposure. In addition, both total percent NAGA lavage fluid obtained immediately testing significantly greater group. It also found substantially more mixed cells 20 microM A23187. Moreover, macrophages secreted upon stimulation vitro A23187 200 micrograms/ml opsonized zymosan. We conclude ozone-induced associated with presence increased activity fluid. Our data suggest may, at least part, be responsible for release this enzyme into
