摘要: This article explores the information desk of a city library as site for language learning. Using linguistic ethnographic approach, interactions between customer experience and assistant many users who approach her were analysed. Findings are that, in addition to providing about resources, desks sites at which bits pieces different languages taught learned. Such teaching learning episodes created inclusion welcome that went far beyond purely transactional information. Rather, language-related moments human contact engagement, upheld through translanguaging practices interactants, disposition workplace competence staff, spatial ecology desk.
