Effects of motivational interviewing-based adherence therapy for schizophrenia spectrum disorders : a randomized controlled trial

摘要: Non-adherence to antipsychotic medication is commonly found in schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, thus forming a major obstacle long-term maintenance treatment contributing high relapse rates. With limited evidence on the success of interventions enhancing adherence, this controlled trial was designed test evaluate effectiveness an adherence therapy (AT) for outpatients with spectrum based motivational interviewing approach over six-month follow-up period. A single-blind, randomized repeated-measures, two parallel groups design conducted random sample 114 participants disorders one community psychiatric nursing service. After pre-test, were randomly assigned either eight-session course AT plus usual care or (n = 57 per group).
