摘要: The present work illustrates the fatigue response differences of a Zr stabilized Al-Cu alloy and corresponding unmodified one. materials has been studied in both conditions by using test machine working at 250 Hz. mechanisms governing life, cyclic deformation fracture characteristics are as function magnitude applied stress intrinsic microstructural evolution. curve representing amplitude life material stabilised condition showed classical behaviour with increasing decreases. A 10 7 cycles 110 MPa was recorded. microstructure as-received deformed characterised optical electron microscopy techniques; crack growth propagation were determined scanning observations. very small equiaxed grains cross section respect to extrusion direction; surfaces distinct regions stable overload micromechanisms damage initiation clearly recognised.
