摘要: Chitin is one of the most abundant organic compounds on earth. It present in both animals and fungi, characteristically it absent plants. In nature, crystalline form polymer α-chitin, which occurs microfibrils. Microfibrils have been observed by electron microscopy fungal cell walls use different techniques: shadow-casting, heavy-metal replicas, negative staining, oblique tangential sections. chitin microfibrils constitute skeleton responsible for their rigidity (for a review, see Ruiz-Herrera, 1978).
