Modified cranking mechanism for epicyclic transmission

摘要: An epicyclic motion generating arrangement especially suitable for use as part of a continuously variable transmission is disclosed herein. This arrangement, in its preferred embodiment, includes planetary assembly supporting four equally circumferentially spaced shafts rotation about given axis, and an index plate mounted own axis parallel with but sometimes eccentric to the assembly. Means are provided rotating at speed direction whereby impart orbiting component each shaft without regard any back forth their respective axis. At same time, means coupling way which causes that rotate it orbits serves reciprocating motion.
