摘要: Context: To evaluate the usefulness of serum calcium in diagnosis and prognosis essential hypertensionObjectives: find out association with pathophysiology hypertension. Study Design: A cross-sectional analytical study. Materials & Methods: Concentrations total ionized were analyzed compared between hypertensive cases normotensive controls by using unpaired two-tailed Student’s t test. All statistical analyses done PASW (SPSS) v.18.0. Results: The mean levels not statistically different groups (P > 0.05). subjects had significantly lower < 0.001) as to controls. Correlation studies showed that varied negatively age, both (r = -0.283, P 0.01) -0.219, 0.01). Liner regression analysis age indicated 1.67 times higher variation than at a particular age. Conclusion: Essential hypertension is associated perturbations metabolism, especially decreased fraction calcium, thus contributing ageing process. Serum can be used diagnostic well prognostic marker
