摘要: The ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters are primary that couple the energy stored in adenosine triphosphate (ATP) to movement of molecules across membrane. ABC can be divided into exporters and importers; importers mediate uptake essential nutrients cells found predominantly prokaryotes whereas transport out or organelles all organisms. have been linked with multi-drug resistance both bacterial eukaryotic cells. powered by hydrolysis ATP their substrate via alternating access mechanism, whereby protein alternates between a conformation which substrate-binding site is accessible from outside membrane, outward-facing one it inward-facing. In this mini-review, structures different transporter types in conformations presented within context mechanism how they shaped our current understanding transporters.
