摘要: The House of Marcus Lucretius preserves the remains paintings so-called Pompeian second, third and fourth styles. In this work, samples from second style painting (architectural AD 40–80), buried in ground not exposed to open air, recovered recent excavations (2004–2006), were analyzed. Moreover, wall fragments (baroque ornate style, before Vesuvius eruption), excavated about 150 years ago since then outdoors, also Raman spectroscopy was used characterize original composition decay products mortars pigment layers. These spectroscopic results complemented with quantitative analysis (ionic chromatography) soluble salts chemometric chemical equilibrium calculations. Probable pathways are proposed explain formation some red pigments for components mortars. a final diagnosis as well comparison conservation state two different kinds environments (outdoors under burial) is discussed emphasizing importance SOx impacts on air artworks.
