摘要: All food production systems are under pressure to comply with societal expectations that the produce is not only of good nutritional value but also sustainably produced. This review compares performance red meat industry in Australia against white meat, plant-protein and other protein across a range biodiversity pressures through over 500 peer-reviewed scientific sources. The finds taking into account past legacy systems, these industries make largest relative potential contribution impact on terrestrial Australia, by both area covered nature impacts. many initiatives beef sheep have improve management biodiversity. To minimise biodiversity, conservation natural resources needs become core integral part rather than it being perceived as an optional extra if times good. help address challenges, stewardship payments for ecosystem services (such carbon, water biodiversity) provided farming community wider society warrant further consideration.
