摘要: BACKGROUND: The origin of weight gain after functional surgery for Parkinson's disease (PD) is incompletely known. We have done a prospective study to determine the possible causes pallidal and subthalamic surgery. PATIENTS AND METHOD: Twenty-seven patients were studied (9 unilateral pallidotomy, 9 bilateral deep brain stimulation (DBS) palidum, DBS suthalamic nucleus) with follow-up 12 months. relationship between changes in motor situation, levodopa dosage, dyskinesias, dysphagia mood state analized. filled questionaire about severity etiology gain. RESULTS: Weight was noted 26 (mean 4.7 kg at months). It found significant correlation improvement dyskinesias (AIMS) (r = 0.461; p 0.023), scores UPDRS part III, 0.479; 0.028), inverse pre-operative patient -0.399; 0.050). most pronounced than (p 0.021). majority referred as an slight adverse event secondary dyskinesias. CONCLUSION: Functional PD, independently surgical target, provokes which benign cases. Reduction energy expenditure respect situation would be responsible that phenomenon.
