摘要: Lanthanum oxide (La2O3) films with good hemocompatibility and antibacterial properties have been fabricated using dual plasma deposition. X-ray photoelec- tron spectroscopy (XPS) shows that La exists in the þ3 oxi- dation state. The band gap of materials is determined to be 3.6 eV. Activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) blood platelet adhesion tests were used evaluate compatibility. bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus, plate counting determine surface properties. APTT a little longer than those stainless steel (SS). Furthermore, numbers adhered, aggregated, morphologically changed platelets are reduced compared on low- temperature isotropic carbon SS. plate-counting test indicates La2O3 has antibacte- rial activity against S. aureus. These unique hemocompati- bility make useful many biomedical applications. 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Biomed Mater Res 87A: 1027-1033,
