摘要: During early development, the invaginated optic vesicle (optic cup) contains primary vitreous, a vascularised tissue supplying lens and retina (both of which have an ectodermal origin). third month gestation, vitreous gradually loses its vascularity is replaced by secondary derived mainly from anterior ciliary body. The principal remnants are Cloquet’s canal some epipapillary gliosis. A mild exaggeration latter seen in Bergmeister’s papilla (fibrous tuft) on nerve head, whilst Mittendorf’s dot remnant posterior capsule lens. hyaloid artery may occasionally persist as vascular channel growing into central gel disc or glial plaque (see Chap. 13).
