摘要: Temperate grasslands of Argentina are extensively grazed by domestic livestock. Primary production follows a seasonal pattern, with maximum vegetation growth in late spring and minimum winter. During the last decade, winter forage productivity has been encouraged promoting cool-season annual grasses through summer applications glyphosate. The aim this study was to describe structural changes grassland associated glyphosate treatments, as applied commercial livestock farm Flooding Pampa. Vegetation composition assessed from 2006 2008, three paddocks that had never exposed any kind herbicide, other treated previous 5 years. In glyphosate, basal cover value were greater but perennial grasses, warm-season tussock legumes, total much lower respect untreated paddocks. shift floristic resulted less rich even assemblages, dominated an species impoverished native species. These may alter ecosystem processes increase soil salinization water losses summer, affect pattern threaten biodiversity conservation sustainability wild life.
