In vitro digestibility of commercial whey protein supplements

摘要: Amongst the sport dietary supplements, those manufactured with whey protein (WP) represent an important amino acid source. However, as a result of product lack uniformity, nutritional quality this type is uncertain. Thus, aim study was to investigate WP supplements produced by U.S. (WP-USA), and Brazilian companies (WP-BRA), evaluating in vitro digestibility, essential (EEA) composition. In addition, (AAS) digestibility-corrected (PDCAAS) scores were calculated. Although WP-USA supplement exhibited greater (P  1.0, exception threonine valine in WP-USA, isoleucine leucine WP-BRA. when calculated AAS PDCAAS based on suggestion for adult athletes considered, both suboptimal score values several EAA. WP-BRA unable supply suggested athlete EAA requirement.
