摘要: This work is developed in the framework of SOFIA project (ESA AO-6280) which aims at estimating important biophysical variables Alpine area by using advanced state art retrieval methods combination with new generation satellite polarimetric SAR data. As a first analysis this direction, previous contribution we investigated the effectiveness fully RADARSAT2 C-band data and proposed use Support Vector Regression technique integration additional information on investigated obtained from ancillary data. In paper move attention exploitation L-band In more detail, our at: 1) assessing algorithm different data, namely data; 2) comparing estimates C- imagery, order to understand common patterns eventually discrepances due penetration capability signals; 3) understanding the feasibility synergic L C band (when both available) for improving soil moisture in areas. The experimental carried out (C-band) and ALOS PalSAR (L-band) achieved results indicate potential SAR imagery moisture also challenging alpine environment. feature properly exploited by algorithm, thus pointing its handling spatial and radiometric characteristics.
