摘要: Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analyses were made to study the unsteady three-dimensional turbulence in ERCOFTAC centrifugal pump test case. The simulations carried out using OpenFOAM Open Source CFD software. case consists of an unshrouded centrifugal impeller with seven blades and a radial vaned diffuser 12 vanes. A large number of measurements are available gap between diffuse, making this case ideal for validating numerical methods. Results steady calculations flow compared experimental ones, four different turbulent models analyzed. simulation uses frozen rotor concept, while a fully resolved sliding grid approach. comparisons show that numerical results accurately predict unsteadiness of flow, demonstrating validity applicability methodology incompressible turbomachinery flow computations. The approach is less accurate, unphysical advection wakes, but accurate enough a crude approximation. different at same level accuracy, slightly results.
