摘要: ABSTRACT The paper discusses the main aspects involved in numerical modeling of successive, large deformation, rigid body impacts sand. was performed for study dynamic compaction dry sand induced by repeated drops a tamper. Two finite element codes were used with variety soil models and computational algorithms. Large deformation effects associated plastic behavior required special techniques remeshing reassignment material properties. Consistency stability formulations evaluated based on their characteristics convergency, accuracy, efficiency. adequacy these to represent actual comparing computed results available experimental data from an extensive laboratory investigation. conclusions presented may serve as general guidelines relevant this type analysis.
