摘要: In cases of Alzheimer's presenile and senile dementia, disease (AD) dementia the Alzheimer type (SDAT), respectively, we have observed, in addition to gray matter degeneration, a lesion that has character an incomplete infarction confined white matter. It is encountered 60% both groups, with mild changes two thirds moderate or severe one third. involves deep symmetrically, tapering off toward cortex. characterized by partial loss myelin, axons, oligodendroglial cells; reactive astrocytic gliosis; sparsely distributed macrophages as well stenosis resulting from hyaline fibrosis arterioles smaller vessels. No complete cavitating infarctions no hypertensive vascular were observed. The are thought be due hypoperfusion concerned territories since, stenosis, these show signs cardiovascular disease, usually hypotension. disorder also occurs independent process AD SDAT may seen sole brain non-AD subjects. Its occurrence thus neither regularly related severity nor regional appearance accentuation cortical not likely just result wallerian degeneration. Histologically it similar several respects Binswanger's although some distinct differences. cerebrovascular group disorders SDAT. view its frequency severity, this important define, diagnose, ultimately prevent cure.
